Danny's party last night was a success. You can always tell that when people tend to stay and stay and stay.

Lots of really good food, mostly vegan and vegetarian, although Sandra (Mexican-native) brought an enormous amount of home-made enchiladas that were definitely not-vegan. The hit of the evening for everyone was the nut loaf, which looked like meatloaf, but had a wonderful mix of nuts, spices and other vegan goodies, topped off with a vegan gravy.

I guess there were more than 20 people that showed up, with the average age being about 30, a lot of them with significant others. Texting ensued immediately. I felt a bit grandfatherly around some of them.

After a long session of eating and schmoozing, people moved around the house. A group went out to yak around the fire pit (first official use). Another group started karaoke downstairs with Danny. I have to say that listening to all the different singers (usually in twos and threes), Danny was by far the best singer!

This was early on, but it definitely got rowdy later. I was able to take a picture of Melissa and Vanessa taking a picture of each other. Apparently there was wine involved.

This was definitely a fun, disparate group of people, thrown together by the context of them all being in the same massage therapy class. They all love Danny, him being the 'elder statesman' of the group with the adorable accent. Except for three young Lesbians, all of them were non-gay and didn't seem scared at all being in the house with two such notorious middle-aged homersectionals. Times have changed.

One young woman, Lisa, shyly came up to me to tell me she's in the accounting program at UNM and just wanted to meet someone who has been doing accounting for DECADES now. :-) Danny apparently has given everyone my life-story.

We were finished cleaning up in about 20 minutes after the last guest left at 9:40, then vegetated for a bit in front of the TV. And that was our Saturday.
