Country Western Dance lessons
Looks like it's going to happen at the Ranch! Next 'Wenesday' for lessons!
We dolled up and headed out to the Ranch about 10 o'clock tonight. I had told the Ranch manager Sean (actually, I have to get used to calling it Sidewinders..they're seque-ing the old name out) that I'd do a demo tonight, but actually, I was fresh out of ideas for 'demo-ing' anything.
The crowd was hopping more than usual when we got there, in spite of the threats of thunderstorms. After checking out the crowd, I decided both announcing the lessons by doing an announcement or doing any kind of demo would kill the energy, so we just started dancing away. Or sweating away actually. Swamp coolers do NOT work when the humidity is 75%!
I was a little worried, cause I asked Sean about the ads for the lessons, and he showed me a partially hidden laminated 8x11 b/w sheet that said, "Country Western lessons, starting Wenedsay [sic]. Free."
EEEEEK!

abqdan was concerned that this MIGHT not come off...I was a bit worried, too. But turns out as time went on that almost EVERYONE in the place seemed to know about it and many are going to come for it.
So after sweat-dancing for a couple of hours, schmoozing with lots of old friends, we came home to crash.
Looks like my investment in buying a new madonna mic today will pay off! Plus my sending email to the lists for the Bears of Manana, the Chile Peckers, the Wilde Bunch, and the gay men's chorus!
And it's time for bed...theoretically, we're weatherproofing the new deck tomorrow.
