Sunday yawning...

Crawled out of bed at an unheard of hour of 9:45am. Danny had been up for a VERY long time and let me sleep in...it was heavenly!

After our two-step bonanza last night at the Ranch, I came home to finish watching "Aftershock: Earthquake in New York". It was a 2-parter TV drama/disaster flick, so I'm glad I put it on Replay. I kept thinking while I was watching it:

- it was better made than most of the disaster flicks I'd seen
- although it was made in 1999, it was EERIE that it seemed like a composite of 9/11 and New Orleans Katrina, since so many reference were made that click home today, 7 years after the movie was made. The twin towers in movie were oddly two of the few buildings NOT damaged by a major earthquake in NY, while most of the rest of the burroughs were laid waste. The disaster response was so similar to what we think of happening to New Orleans: most communications out, friction between local heads of government and tactical response, FEMA not coming into the picture until allowed!

Made it to bed by 2:30 I think...whew.

Dancing at the Ranch was certainly fun. We hadn't been there since December 31 on a Saturday night, either from being too tired to function past 10pm, or being out of town. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of Thursday dancers that were there. The dance floor was usually very full of either line dancers or two-steppers the whole 2 hours were were there.

Workwise, the two shows for Riverdance were fairly uneventful. I'm not too keen on the Clear Channel rep (yet), nowadays, since our old fave Michelle moved on to work with the Chicago touring company. Joey pretty much defines the stereotype of what the neuvaux clone looks like. That mid-30s circuit party boy look...extra slender, hyper-groomed, effeminate. Maybe it's because standing next to him, I feel like an overweight moose or a linebacker. Ugh.

Two more shows today, and it's going to be a lazy day, with maybe a little puttering in the garden before and after the Sunday matinee.

Only frustrating thing this morning is trying to access Brenda Lee's "Roll Back the Rug" on AOL music to use for line dancing. Yeesh.
