The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told
My friend Hal Simons is directing this show here at UNM as part of his theatre major. It looks like GREAT fun...and perhaps has gratuitous nudity in it!
Hal is a much more interesting guy than he lets on. He first came to Albuquerque to direct a 1995(ish) production of "Chicago" by (then) ACLOA, my former employer. Hal fell in love with the Land of Enchantment and vowed to move here one day. Over the course of time, he directed a half dozen great shows; he's one of the more loved directors that came to town.
He did indeed move here when he was offered the artistic director position there in 2001, just after I left ACLOA (now Musical Theatre Southwest). But after four years of struggling through their financial woes, he jump shipped, too and now is a full-time student again.
So now to convince Danny we have to see this show!
