It's going around
Danny's sick with a virus of some sort. He had a fever this morning. He thinks he caught something in the Montreal BioPark this past week...herds of coughing children and various germfests and all that.
We had invited our friend Lawrence over for BBQ tonight, but I called earlier and left a message that Danny's sick...left a message to call me at work to confirm he GOT the message.
Work was BUSY today...this new job has a lot of handholding for the non-accounting types in the auxiliaries that are even more befuddled by the solid steel chains the computer system has put on them than we are. I didn't leave work until the ungodly hour of 5:45, and got home to find that Lawrence still hadn't confirmed that he got my message. Planned arrival had been for 6. Called back again to his cell and his home, but just more voice mail messages....thinking maybe he forgot.
Lawrence appeared on the doorstep with his two toy poodles at 6:05. His cell battery had gone flat (British for DEAD I think) and never got the messages. After a REALLY brief angst of "what do we do now"...we ended up having a very nice dinner and played some Rummicub and Diversion until LK and dogs left at 9pm. I BBQed and Danny mixed up a salad, nuked some cauliflower and Bob's your uncle.
Danny was a trouper. Really! He passed out about 10:15 before the storm front rolled through.
