Holiday Concert Program

New Mexico Gay Men's Chorus
Dec 16 & 18

First Half
- Brightest and Best...Ken Berg
- Another Christmas...Eric Lane Barnes
- Air...Bach (arr. by former director John Warford)
- Deck the Halls...(arr. Larry Moore, very frenetic!)
- Christmas Cards...Alan Stringer (chorus founder, former accompanist, and current Baritone)
- Cold...Gustav Ernesaks
- Alto Rhapsody...Brahms

Second Half
- Christmas Shopping Spree...David Blue/Stephen Smith
- My Two Front Teeth (Quartet)...Gardner/Szabo
- Dreidel A-Go-Go...Jeffrey Moidel
- Winter Light...Donald Skrivin
- Baby It's Cold Outside...Loesser/Kerr
- In the Bleak Midwinter...Gustav Holst
- Dorothy Parker's Carol...John-Michael Albert
- Ring Out Wild Bells...Ron Nelson

For us, an ambitious program, considering we're only 15 voices! Our director Paul Barrientos is more into heavy Bach-style music versus the lighter tone the music committee is trying to achieve. Hope there's a good balance!

Ring out wi-yuld bells
to the WI-yuld sky
to the WI-yuld sky, ring,
Ring out wi-yuld bells
to the WI-yuld sky
to the WI-yuld sky (etc.)

We did that one in NYC last year. The words were the hardest part! I see you're also doing the Alto Rhapsody... beautiful! I consider *that* kind of ambitious. In English, or German? And then there are those Larry Moore arrangements... he was NYCGMC's official or unofficial arranger-in-residence for a long time; his manuscript is familiar to all the guys there!

I don't think we gave *any* attention to that issue last year. I don't recall Jeffrey ever mentioning it at all, in fact!
