It's done!
Feb. 15th, 2006 10:35 amDanny started feeling better during the day, and was actually up watching the tube when I got back from my (hopefully final) heart doc appt at 4:30. He was still a tad on the miserable side, but we did exchange cards...and he got me a lovely little gift of a "Line Dancer" belt buckle and 3 Toblerone chocolate sticks.
Dinner was composed of the store-bought hummus I brought back from the office potluck, with pita. Tasty, but hardly romantic! As dessert, I devoured one of the Toblerone sticks.
bjarvis would have been proud.
There was a side reaction to doing this. Chocolate has caffeine, and my caffeine intake is limited to one cup of coffee on a weekend morning now. Oh, boy, was I BUZZED!
I flew downstairs and in about 4 hours completed the sorting of even MORE paperwork, all the chachkes, and FINALLY the boxes are all labeled and filed under the stairwell. A huge amount of memorabilia again, including finding my father's obituary from '87, condolence cards from the Wilde Bunch, love letters I wrote but (mercifully) didn't send to my best friend I was infatuated with in 1994, letters I kept from the one demented fan I had about 1990, just in case a restraining order was needed (he died about six years ago, having denied he was ever stalking me. Hah!), a whole bunch more Wilde Bunch flyin memories, and lots of deco-items, and blank paper and office supplies that I boxed and thought I'd use again some day. A BIG yay to me! 9 more bags of trash later, I was done. Lots of old random cardboard boxes for recycling. IT'S DONE!
There was a wee bit of a break in there...I went upstairs to watch the end of one of my weepy faves with Danny, "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopie Goldberg. I hadn't seen it since the early 90s, so it was of course mostly fresh, since I don't retain plotlines. Only one tissue at the end though. I remember bawling out loud when I saw it in the theatre in 1990.
Since I was still on a choco-high past midnight long after Danny had gone to bed, I noodled around on the computer for a while reading the BBM movie script until fatigue overtook...and slept a GOOD sleep.
Danny's better today...but only at about 75% efficiency...although he WAS definitely perky first thing in the morning. He's having to deal with phone calls the old UNM president's computer again...I think Lou Caldera is just lonely for Danny's company. (evil grin).
