billeyler: (heath brokeback pensive campfire)
Been feeling only half-awake most of the time most of the week, which is a little confusing since I FEEL like I've been sleeping well. This morning I intended to walk to work as part of my efforts to save the world economy by not driving the 2 mile round trip everyday. I didn't walk, I drove...oh, well.

Yesterday was a brain chugging day. I had to concentrate on fine tuning the wage budget, and then making it fit into the overall picture at Popejoy so we can look like we're making a profit next season. Still lots of noodling to do, since I haven't incorporated everyone's budget plans into the picture, but I have to have my part finalized in a few days, so I'd best get cranking some more. It'll be great fun telling people that they can't have the budget money they think they should. Now if the phone didn't ring and I didn't have 80 emails a day to deal with.

Danny needed to work on a website project last night, so he wasn't my Ginger for c/w lessons last night. THAT started off badly, since I was having major problems with the sound system at the Ranch. Twice I nearly blew out people's brainstem through their ears with the hyper-volume of turing on "That Don't Impress Me Much," then another volley of feedback when my mic went whacko. Lovely start. The energy for me was a bit low...there were only 20 or so dancers, including a couple of REALLY bad dancers that could NOT get the steps for waltzing. Last night was Waltz-mania, and nearly everything I worked on was centered around that. In any case, got kudos at the end of the 2 hours from several dancers.

Headed home, where Danny was still cranking away on the major problems he was having with Joe Horton's website...and his headaches are back in full force apparently, in spite of this new mega-drug his doc prescribed.

New Mexico Symphony is premiering a commissioned work tonight for the Albuquerque Tricentennial celebration. "Time and Again Barelas" it's called, and according to our tech people here, it's going to be DREADFUL. I know a few folks that are going to see it as symphony subscribers, so I'll be interested to hear their thoughts. This weekend is the "official" weekend of the Tricentennial, but we've been bombarded with it since last year...the irony of Albuquerque's history has always left me with a chuckle.

Now back to the bean counting.
