At 8:15 tonight, I administered the adhesive on the last of the parquet tiles that Danny could rehab. I'd say the room is 97% done, with the exception of the fiddly bits right by the walls, and power-nailing the trim back. I'm fairly confident we can finish the little bit left without having to try to find a comparable parquet.

Danny's hand is totally numb and typing is an effort. My back, butt and knees are grumbling at me from the unused-to effort. I reckon over the two weekends, we put in about 60 man-hours on getting the floor up, floor cleaned, parquets scraped and made "new" and laid back down.

I NEVER NEVER WANT TO HAVE TO DO THIS AGAIN.

The only benefit of us re-doing it ourselves was that it was only about $120 in materials, versus the $2,000 or so it would have cost to have a contractor do it. If there are such people. I guess I should be glad it was only 1/2 the room, but still 350+ square feet was much harder to do this time than in 1995, since we were re-using tiles.

Very tired today...got some bizarre stomach virus or such that lasted from 9:00 last night to 3:00-ish this morning the kept me...er..unpleasantly up.

Danny spent part of yesterday and today volunteering at the rodeo...he can tell that tale. Amazingly, even though it was forecast for heavy T-storms again today, it was quite nice out, in the 70s, and not rain!
