Winding down...
Sep. 7th, 2006 10:06 pmChorus Wednesday was picking up a bit, with a few new faces for the last of the three open nights.
Before chorus though, I stopped over to visit with Kris J for about 30 minutes to talk about the C1/C2 stuff here in ABQ, her grandmother's funeral (she had put together a wonderful slide show of pics starting from when her grandmother turned 21 in 1922 through a video over her in April), plus a quick recap of the Chicago flyin.
Rushed off home again, then headed down the street to chorus. It's going to be a full program for the holidays, which I'll post after it's finalized. I think we've run through all of the numbers at least once now. One of the new guys tonight was named Kelly, who had some interesting tattoos on his arms, including one of the Star of David...and of course his first piece of music to read through was "God Rest You Merry Gentlemen."....oh boy.
Work has been getting more stressful lately, since it seems like we're having to know everything about every financial function and pass it along to our units. My brain is full.
Tonight's C/W lessons were extra-energetic tonight...I think there were five or six new faces. A new couple that met through C/W, John and Gary brought a big layer cake and a centerpiece of lovely flowers to thank us for all we've done...I think they're just in that "we've been dating for a month and love everyone" mode and wanted to share it. Danny stayed home to pack and relax before our trip, so he missed the surprise.
Speaking of that, I wandered home to get packed for tomorrow, and was happily searching for theme music on my laptop for this coming weekend. Right after Danny got home at 5:30, I got a call from work. My cell phone had rung, so Karen called me to tell me I left it there! In spite of the thunder and lighting, I roared back to work to get it, since it's my first time OUT OF TOWN with a cell phone!
So, relaxing now...just set the alarm to ring at 5:30am so we can get a taxi to the airport for the "Make Room for Ducklings" flyin in Boston!
