Infirmities
Mar. 29th, 2007 06:42 amDanny's suffering from those incapacitating headaches again and I feel absolutely helpless to suggest anything to do. He emailed in sick yesterday and just shuffled around the house all day. I so rarely get a headache that it's hard to remember what serious ones feel like. I do feel a possible 'something' coming on myself, but it MAY pass...the right side of my face and neck feels pressure from swollen glands, my right sinus is stuffed up, and I have on and off achy joints, but I don't actually feel sick .
Today he's got a major dental procedure coming up...maybe they'll put him under and that will help the headache for a while. He's theoretically off to a retreat in the mountains east of here on Friday until Sunday, but that may or may not happen for him. He's bearing up pretty well, considering.
Jesus Christ Superstar will suck up a lot of my time this weekend, with some regular patron issues (that I don't normally deal with) that may come up because it'll be sold out for all five performances. I just read on wikipedia.org yesterday when I was looking up info on Ted Neeley (he's 63, still playing Jesus) that this is a 'riser' production, which I guess means it's very bare bones. Haven't heard much about it on the tech side, for some reason. The media settlement was easy to put together, since we barely had to advertise the show.
Sunday, I'll be packing for a VERY VERY VERY early Monday morning 5 hour drive to Colorado Springs for Callerlab. I am looking forward to seeing <lj user = "otterpop58"> (I'm rooming with him) and some other folks I don't see very often, a few of them LJers. Although I was asked to be on the Teaching Methods committee recently, I don't have any other major commitments for the three days, so I'll just play with interpersonal networking, hitting committee meetings, panels and BOF sessions. I wish I could have gone on the Saturday to do all the pre-convention activities, but with JCS here, that wasn't to be.
On the brighter side, this cold front that pushed in will be gone in a couple of days and it'll be back in the heat-wavey 70s. The winds aren't nearly as bad as I thought they were going to be, and rather than dipping below freezing, it's only slid down to 35 this morning. Yay for the fruit trees!
[Danny just woke up to email in sick to work again and said he's probably not going to the dentist. His legs are aching still, too...he thinks it may be some bizarre virus]
