Such a stockholder am I!

This past May for our 6th anniversary, Danny gave me one share of stock in the Wrigley company...knowing that I chew gum, apparently.

Since then, I've gotten TWO (count 'em TWO) checks in the mail for quarterly dividends of 29 cents a share. OMG. Into the bank they went!

Friday in the mail, I got 6 15-piece packs of their "5" brand...called "Rain." I smelled the spearmint even through the double-wrapped cellophane. Can't wait to give it a try!


Somehow it reminds me of those 1980's Blade Runner style Japanese cigarette ads touting "Lucky" and "Good Health" and all that...

No one told me there were such great perks to being a shareholder! Guess I should have checked in with dr_scott!

Sicknesses abound

Somehow, I haven't gotten the seasonal flu/cold whatevers that are abounding right now. It seems that 2 out of 3 people are just sick or getting sick, including Danny. He's in his 5th day of a stomach virus that isn't really easing in the long term, although he has patches where he's pretty much back to normal. Isaac, the new intern at work, was sniffling like crazy on Friday, and this guy is a healthy-as-a-horse 23 year old jock.

Out the window are social engagements, dancing, and going to see the Festival of Lights at the Botanical center...for now at least.

My body has been fighting off this mild sinus infection I've had for so long that I might have my white cell soldier reinforcements doing overtime against the flu bug...but I can't imagine it lasting forever. I actually feel pretty fair tonight, in spite of seeing "217" on the scales this morning.

Sigh.
