It's that time of year where weather-wise nothing much really happens (as opposed to last year when we were still diggin out of that foot of snow.) Mid 40s in the day and mid 20s at night. For days on end. Clear skies...sometimes breezy, sometimes not. I crave warmer weather, but it ain't gonna happen for at least another month. I think Jan 7 was the anniversary of a record cold -17F here in 1971.

We had probably a record turnout on Thursday for c/w dancing. I hadn't planned at all for the lesson, other than sending out my weekly email very early on Thursday, noting the line dances I'd be working through. Probably 7 or 8 new dancers. Not bad. We had a record 21 couples dancing the Barn Dance at the end, which is our gauge of how many are there. Actually, there were probably 15-20 people sitting in the sidelines, too. So, all in all a good night, in spite of not planning a program!

VERY busy at work on Friday. Glad that's over! I should have gone in to work for a couple of hours today, but I'm sure I can get what I need done if I go in early on Monday. Crossing fingers.

Cut up more of the old limbs from the back yard for Danny to burn in the fireplace...slowly but surely, I'm making a dent in the debris pile behind the garage, tossing out as much yard refuse as I can in our one trash bin every week. Breaking up some of the old stucco/chicken wire, as well as some of the old lumber into pieces small enough to fit into the trash bin will be the real challenge, once I get down to that part of it.

Ventured into the attic (if you can call it that), and pulled down all the old stereo component boxes that Jim #1 had shoved up there when we moved into this house in 1992. Memories flooding back from the 80s...ah, well! I did run the flashlight around to see where there is no insulation in a few places over the ceiling, and hope to get that rectified in the near future. This north side of the house gets SO chilly.

Not sure what the rest of the weekend has planned. Lots of deaths recently, and I'll be going to a former WB dancer's memorial service tomorrow. Lois Dickerman succumbed to cancer very recently...I hadn't seen her in a while, but she was a well known mover and shaker in the community.
