Last night was the regular Plus and Advanced night for the Wilde Bunch. The board voted to extend the dancing by 30 minutes (6:30 to 7:00pm) so I could add two full Advanced tips back into the program to keep those skill levels up. I'm relieved!

We have 4 non-gay couples now that have joined in for the Advanced lessons, so we always have 3 squares of A going on. We're now 1/2 through A1 and 2/3 through Plus. I'm impressed with the retention levels of the dancers at Advanced...I've only had to do a couple of brief walk throughs of previously taught calls. Plus? Not quite as successful, but I'm sure they'll get up to speed with a lot more floor time.

Tonight while Danny is at his AGORA volunteer shift, I'll do my second (and hopefully last) training session for the new ASDC treasurer. I've never seen anyone so hestitant to move forward in doing a job. She has some skills from working with her parents for so many years at their well-known bakery here, but she's acting like she's having to learn everything about bookkeeping from scratch. Scary.

So, I'll have Wednesday nights free now. I could go to C2 dancing at Kris' house. I could go to round dancing lessons at the center. I could go to Cowboys to see Mike Haley in action professionally teaching c/w lessons. I could recatalog my music collection and do lots of prep work for Thursday c/w lessons. The options abound!

After several intense days at work of number-crunching hell to get the pricing levels together for the 08-09 season, the end is at sight. But now I have to jump into the whole budget thing AND learn the new UNM system. I have a month to do that...should work! So far the new payroll system is working, in spite of ourselves.

Right now, it's a delightful, short-sleeve calm 60 degrees out, but I see the clouds starting to sneak over the horizon as I type.

Tomorrow night's forecast:

100% probability of precipitation, rain changing to sleet and snow in the evening, with 1-3 inches of the white stuff expected by tomorrow night.

Could make the drive to/from c/w lessons interesting!

Move over, [livejournal.com profile] wooddragon! We need to share those extra blankets with you!
