billeyler: (face in the sunlight)
Worked 4 hours yesterday at work, although we are technically off on Fridays. Had a deadline to meet for some financial info for the Golf Course. Came home at 1:30 feeling pleased with myself for accomplishing it.

Puttered around in the afternoon, doing a little of this and that. Our friend Marc Coan was coming over for dinner last night, so Danny whipped up a nice beef stew for five; Sarah and Linda are still around. I climbed on the roof again to adjust the water on the swamp cooler and found that two of the holes in the PVC pipe that supply the water to the filter media were plugged. The cooler has been hard-pressed to keep the house under 80 degrees this week.

Over glasses of wine after the tasty dinner, Marc reviewed with us his preliminary cabinetry plans for our kitchen remodel. We did a lot of tweaking and yakking, so next is Marc doing the revisions then having us over to his showroom to pick out cabinetry. We figure we're pretty much going to stay within budget on this, but who knows.

This morning, seven of us Wilde Bunchers met at 11:30 for Class Committee Session 2. After two hours, we nailed down a proposal for changes in the class structure for the coming year that I think everyone will be pleased with. C1 is moving to Tuesdays and Plus is moving to Mondays; that's the nutshell version.

While I was gone, the appraiser came over. Danny toured him around for 20 minutes, giving details of the house. Apparently, appraisers can only use MLS listing values for determining comps now, although I reviewed our 2004 appraisal and it definitely states that the 3 comps were prepared using actual sales values. In 2004, the property was valued at $79 a square foot. We've put in lots of improvements since then (downstairs), so I'm hoping the appraisal is more along the lines of $100 a square foot. Danny's thinking $125 a square foot. In either case, we'll well meet the 80% criteria for the refi.

Also, Lin from NMGRA finally stopped by to pickup a truck load of old stuff we're donating to them, including my old gas grill. Yay! More room in the garage!

Now, just putting my notes together for my dance I'm calling tonight. I head off shortly for the 90 mile drive to Los Alamos to call a Mainstream/Plus dance for the Mountain Mixers, a club I haven't called for in probably 14 years. Should be interesting!

Of course, I'm missing a) a Kathy Mattea and friends concert at the Zoo tonight and b) a BBQ at Richard Lane's house in Placita, with the Wilde Bunch as the key invitees.
