Progress. Slow, but it's progress
Dec. 5th, 2008 12:42 pmToday marks the 3rd and final sanding and shellacing of the oak floors. Hopefully, it's the last night of noxious (but according to them, harmless) fumes. After that, we can take down the plastic dust covers "protecting" the downstairs. There's plenty of dust of all sorts all over downstairs, since the furnace has been coming on fairly frequently.
Yesterday after my doctor's appt, I picked Danny up from work. We headed over to Branch Cabinetry to (finally) select the hardware for the cabinets. Apparently, that'll all have to be ordered and certainly won't be here by Tuesday. Lots of lovely brushed nickle hardware, knobs and drawer pulls. Marc, the designer liked our choice.
Cabinets are scheduled to be delivered to the house on Monday, with installation starting on Tuesday.
Monday, the selected tile guy comes to put in the new shower pan in the master bath. That'll have to be inspected as part of the final plumbing, whenever that happens.
We have yet to make the final selections of tile for the bathrooms and haven't gotten the shower fixtures yet.
The vanities didn't arrive on the 3rd as they were supposed to, so we'll follow up on that. We would have had to store them anyway until we do the painting and floor tiling in the bathroom. We have all the sink fixtures in hand.
The countertops should be measured in on Thursday. I don't know when they'll be installed.
After next week, it's all the slow fiddly stuff that happens, but by this time next week, it should start looking more like a house than a dance hall.
Guess we should pick out the paint for the two bathrooms, too!
