Six years today of being on LiveJournal.

Blogging/diary entries by others have subsided over the years to about 10% of what they were when I first joined. Of course, that was before Facebook. Until about 2008, I would get WAY behind on reading LJ updates if I was out of town for a day or two. Now, I see about 5 or 6 posts a week, mostly from three or four people.

I think I've added 3 people as new LJ friends in the past year. Most of the people I've had here since at 2006, I'm sure, mostly square dancers. Most of them still show as active, but don't post.

I'm going for ten years, for sure! :-)

From a posting on June 16, 2006, I first became aware of John Barrowman!

The ".08" showing in the RAIN section of the weather gauge isn't from today--it's for the ENTIRE year. We didn't have much precip in the three months before that either.

Yes, of course it's a desert. We're at the northern end of the Chihuahuan desert. We get about 9 inches of precip a year. "Normally" that is. This is the driest year on record since records started in 1890 and HAS been for over two months.

If the monsoon is ever going to come, it won't be too soon for me. Sure, the low humidities are all well and good, but really, this is a serious drought.
