Tonight felt a bit pivotal for the c/w lessons...

We had at least one new person join us, but he was a very accomplished dancer from his days in NYC dancing c/w there, was even on an exhibition team. A couple of others popped in and out, and there is a large crowd of people just hanging out watching that we can't really seem to get onto the floor, but they're INTERESTED.

It wasn't so much the lessons themselves...people seem to really enjoy them, and keep coming, and have BEEN coming back week after week since late July. There's a lot of bonding and new friendships that have come of it.

It was AFTER we finished the lessons...people stick around for the late night kareoke. But the kareoke has turned into ALL c/w music, just like that. And our crowd stuck around and danced the dances and shuffled the line dances that people were singing through...some badly, but most REALLY well. So Thursdays in now DEFINITELY a c/w night at the Ranch.

I am curious as to how Johnny (the kareoke master, with a great singing voice) decided to shift his energies into following up our two hours with his music, very seamlessly. He's lowered the volume, mercifully. He's apparently only using c/w songbooks on Thursdays.

We left with a smile after 10.
