Tonight is Danny's volunteer work night, so I decided to do a few chores here and there. The biggest one was cleaning windows, a much easier chore now that I know I can take the sliders out and clean them rather than pull the screens out and clean them from the outside! I didn't get all the windows, just a few that were seriously spotted and grimy, plus the garage windows.
Sunday I had made a little project of partially rearranging the shelving in the garage and moving the firewood into a corner rather than having it block the back door. Part of the fun was pulling out a lot of things that we're going to give away to the gay rodeo association for their fundraiser yard sale this weekend. Now if the guy will just bring his truck over and pick it all up, we'll be so much more the happier that it's all gone.
A few days ago, I noticed a roadrunner family wandering the back yard, picking up twigs and bits. Somewhere very nearby they're building a nest, but I couldn't find it. Tonight I saw one of them scouting very near the house, so I went to grab my camera. By the time I got it, he (she?) had trotted into the back 'field of rock'. These birds don't take much notice of humans. I was able to get within a few feet and the bird didn't even act like it knew I was there.

Today was finally a summerish day again. Mid 90s, low humidity, calm. I headed out for another dip in the pool as the sun was setting, a really refreshing activity in the dusk and quiet.
