As soon as I logged off, the first big splats hit the swamp cooler, then started the sheet lightning, then the BIG rain, then BIG lightning and thunder. Ah.....

Danny got a video of some of the lightning. It was amazing...nearly constant sheet lighting 360 up in the clouds, then random bolts all around, some horizontal, some vertical. The show lasted over an hour.

It's the first real rain we've had at the house in maybe 9 months. Local news says downtown got 1.5 inches so far, but the airport "officially" recorded .25 inches. I think it was more like 3/4 inch here at the house. Sheesh. Last night, some parts of the Heights got over 3 inches in an hour with flooding and amazing footage of the arroyos about to overflow, but the "official" at the airport was .03 inches. That's New Mexico for ya!

A lovely 63 degrees now, thunder receding in the distance, and it's still raining.

Sleep will be good tonight.
