Today was a blur of wrap-up for yearend finances for the theatre and the astronomy center. It's not supposed to be this convoluted, but it is. Finances at a university are just BIZARRE.

In betwixt and between, Karen, Antoinette and I made two "field trips" to other auxiliaries to meet the staff...in the morning, it was to the La Posada Dining Hall for the offices of that restaurant and housing, then just before noon, to the South Golf Course, which has a commanding view of the west. Then back to work for more hectic number crunching and reviewing and auditing and balancing and head-scratching.

After a short break at home, Danny and I hit Main Chinese for our usual buffet feed, then headed down the road to the Ranch for lessons. The evening started out getting gray, and by the time we got to the Ranch at 6:30, big fat globs of rain started splatting the car. Over the next 30-40 minutes there was an absolute deluge. 3 days of rain out of the past 4...NICE!

It was nice during the day to read the blogs of LJ-types that have already hit convention. I could tell that the ones that went to caller school are definitely on the verge of brain cell collapse...hope they recover by tomorrow!

Lessons went well tonight...we had several brand new dancers so I had to ramp WAY back on the lessons. My knee is playing up on my again after 3 days of pain free days...I'm hoping it lasts thru convention, or I may be going the way of many middle aged dancers...not pretty.

A coworker is picking us up to take us to the airport tomorrow at 11...then 4 days of fun fun fun!
