Insinuating myself into the sich-y-a-shun
May. 29th, 2006 09:17 amWas just thinking how I seem to have a need to toss myself into IAGSDC conventions, even if I'm not staff. Can't I just go and ENJOY the cameraderie and dancing? Must be an ego-quirk I have.
This year, I am:
- calling three GCA slots...I could have signed up for more, but thought that would be hoggin' since there are so many callers out there nowadays.
- calling the one hour "Bear Tip"
- coordinating two one-hour GCA "Intro to Calling: Whetting Your Whistle" sessions, and I've asked three old friends and callers to co-present.
I've even sent Gary M in Denver thoughts on "how I can be used" for Denver '07 convention, which includes presenting a one-hour Hexagon dancing session and a one-hour Heritage 1950 dance. And there I'm even on staff. Barely, but that's another story.
Maybe I should go to therapy to discover the roots of my need to instigate myself into these situations.
