Americana

If one were web browsing, and knocked over a can of store-brand cola on the desk, then sopped it up with a store-brand tissue, here's what I'd probably hear from that person:

"While I was Googling, I knocked over my Coke and wiped it up with Kleenex."

Isn't product branding wonderful?

I was thinking more along the lines of "Why wouldn't they use a sponge to get up all of the white powder?". That wouldn't work well, either. Maybe using a tissue to "push" the coke into an envelope ... ?

YOU may be thinking of that, but I certainly wasn't! ;-)

Talk about a lesson in brand marketing? !!!! It says a lot about a brand, albeit the brand has been around for years, when it works its way into the normal usage of the English language -- as well as obtaining its own entry in the dictionary.

Very true!
