Work was mostly centered around the recalcitrant Lodestar Astronomy Center, a UNM auxiliary that is back under my watch. EVERYTHING there is always a crisis, an emergency, a disaster, that it's exhausting just listening to the enormously talky operations manager go through the litany of woes. But in spite of that all, I'm whipping the books back into shape. Even worked until 5:30 tonight, trying to stay on top of it.

Coming home, Danny and I headed over to Mannie's for our weekly home-like cooked meal, then scooted back home so Danny could meet up with our (hunky, blond, slender, 35 year old) chorus prez to record the May chorus concert from a VHS tape to DVD. They retired to the office to work on the www.nmgmc.org website for a bit, so I took my leave to work outside for a bit. Before I snuck out, I did call Kris and Andy to confirm they'll be panelists on the "Intro to Calling" seminars at the convention.

Today was a delightfully cool day after the massive storms last night. I trimmed down some more of the dead branches to fit into the trash bin and hauled that out to the curb. Then starting working on sprinkly ant-be-gon over the NUMEROUS anthills that have sprung up over the yard over the Spring. While I was doing that, I got to yakking with a neighbor over the fence who has a remarkable veggie garden. Found out that he is still good friends with the family that lived in our house from 1968-1992, and liked what we were doing with the house. He's just listed HIS house (he bought it a few years ago to 'fix up')...it's a 4500 square foot, 1964 split level home with an indoor pool for a "mere" $699,000. Since it's so big, he doesn't expect to sell it quickly, but it will sell for double what he bought it for.

Now, just relaxing, waiting for ANOTHER massive storm to pass over us...lots of deep purple on the radar. So far lots of lightning and thunder, but not a drop of rain. Waiting, waiting....
