We did it.

Yesterday, we trekked downtown to our lawyer and signed off on all our wills, etc...everything needed to keep everything from going to probate in case one (or both) of us expires before our time. Medical power of attorney, the whole works.

Feeling a bit better about it all now!

Think I'll take Danny out for some ice cream as a treat!

Yay. Even in states with marriage or DP legislation, the default process after death is usually pretty far from what you really want to have happen, and tends to benefit lawyers more than beneficiaries. Now you can die worry-free!
