Yesterday, I had intended to make an afternoon of going to the fairgrounds to partipate in the annual Albuquerque Folk Festival.   Kris Jensen has been VERY active for this group on their board this year.  When Danny and I went in 2001, we had a fun time.

Danny had enough pain killers in his system that we did make it to the Gay Holocaust Museum for its last day downtown...very moving.  We were two of the monetary supporters to bring it to ABQ for a month.  After that we trundled over to Smith's for another festive grocery shopping trip.

Danny's chest and NOW his back are bothering him a lot, but he persevered and we made it home about 2.  By that time, I was tired, too, and opted to not hit the Folk Festival...it was looking as if it were going to rain (although it never did).

We spent a couple of hours watching "Stranger Than Fiction" in the afternoon.  Danny thought it was a vehicle written to put a lot of out-of-work actors together, but I enjoyed it for what it was.  Will Farrell was even good in a mostly straight role.

I puttered around in the back yard cleaning up the spring's detritus of fallen twigs from the cottonwood, sweeping up the fluff droppings from the Russian Olive in the lower terrace, and applying some serious weed killer in a number of prime locations.

By 8:30 we had gathered up enough energy to head over to East Ocean Chinese for a sit-down dinner.  Danny counted this as my birthday dinner.

Checked my order on Fullcompass.com for the new ElectroVoice 767a microphone I had ordered on Thursday afternoon.  It's already been shipped, so I should have that as well as my new laptop by Monday evening!  I had a realization at convention that my old EV is at least 18 years old, maybe older, and it was time to spring for a new one.

Lots of dramatic lightning to the south and west of us last night up through 11pm, but the whole storm missed Albuquerque proper and headed away south.  Ah, well.

I think of Strange Than Fiction as Will Farrell's Truman Show. I really enjoyed the set decoration — very IKEA.

I wonder if you'll find a brand-new 767 different from an 18-year-old one. (Were they Made in U.S.A. then?)

Harlan didn't comment on any difference when he recently had to replace his. (His car was broken into.) He picked one up for me, but it's my first so I have nothing to compare it with.
