Growing up in Albuquerque, I always thought it was a bit dull and ugly. I dreamed of beaches and jungles and forests and far away places. Now that I am away, I dream of Southwest sunsets, 'pink' Sandias at dusk, and my HOME.
I know what you mean. I remember the view I had of the Jemez mountains, when growing up as a kid, from our home in Santa Fe. Something about the shear expanse of the land in front of you and the ever changing colors and shadows.
