(*(&$@# dog!
Jul. 24th, 2005 10:39 amOkay, short of actually shooting the dog next door, I think we've both HAD it and have to take serious steps to get this situation resolved. This poor German Shepherd next door (and I mean literally 10 feet from the house) is so bored and lonely from it's 24/7 existence without human company that it howls or barks incessantly from 6 in the morning till people stop walking their dogs past that house.
Oh, yes...all the steps have been taken in the past with complaints to the animal control and the like, but we'll have to do more than that now.
Don't know if I can deal with another summer weekend of not being able to sleep past 6am. It's fine in the winter with the new heavily insulted windows, but open windows in the summer here are a must.
Other than THAT, it's a lovely summer day here, and now that houseguest Indiana Mike has taken off to the Jemez Mtns to teach his one-week art camp, I can get lots more accomplished. He spent the day yesterday on a white-water rafting trip in the Rio Grande, so I took that opportunity to get a lot of productive hours in. And more today!
My old childhood friend, Dale, sent me some recent and LONG ago pics this morning, including some from 1976 when I was this big-haired skinny 22 year old working at the Grand Canyon. Where did all that hair go! Of course the moustache is there, pre "Just For Men"...I'll have to figure out how to post pics on here...
abqdan is back from California at 7:30 tonight, so that'll be good to have him to snuggle up with again. Missed him! He called last night while I was out working to 'gloat' about being at the ocean...good thing we travel a lot so he can get his sea-view fixes!
