Final weekend of Balloon fest
Oct. 8th, 2005 01:04 pmAfter some relatively crappy weather (50mph winds, rainy) a few nights back, all is well again in weather-land, and the balloons have had spectacular ups and downs, both in the morning and for the Glo-deos in the evening. It all wraps up tomorrow morning with the final mass ascension.
Yesterday, the weather was low overcast clouds, but calm, so the balloons did go up...it was really wild watching them from afar dipping in and out of the clouds, some disappearing altogether. Another one came over the houses near us and landed in the golf course again. Danny snapped LOTS of pictures of that.
Opened the square dance hall up this morning at 9:30 just as a courtesy, since there was C2 starting at 10. I went as a solo, but ended up dancing with our Wilde Bunch friend Frank Grubbs (83, widower and former Episcopalian priest, but loves dancing with the gay folk) all the was through from C2 to the C1 session with Vic Ceder. This is the first time I've really seen Vic dumbing down his calling to the extent he did! His hosts got him to the square dance right at 10am. And I heard they got him there 10 minutes LATE for the dance last night. I'd have been angry...been there as a caller enough times myself!
Danny's back from his Montana conference adventure and has his pictures from Yellowstone developing at Walmart. Woohoo! He's been quite beside himself since he got back with his new toys. The new Replay TV to replace the old one, the new digital camera to replace his old one, and all the art that he bought on the cruise ship. Happily, he didn't get a new Bill to replace the old one! His back is still causing nerve problems in his legs, so he's not up for dancing or walking.
I'm starting my morning walk regimen now...we'll see how that works over time.
