Coolness Redux
Oct. 9th, 2005 08:47 pmCool 1 - Well, the weather turned really crappy again early this morning and the mass ascension was cancelled for this, the last day of balloon fiesta. Thunder and lighting at 5:30am? How bizarre. And it's been really COOL here today (48 to 58 degrees) and very very rainy.
Cool 2 - Danny's been spending bokoo hours reorganizing our 4+ years of 1000s of digital photos, because his new Replay TV has the capability of storing photo albums! That is WAY COOL, since I've been complaining about the lack of visible memory-joggers of our adventures on our many trips.
Cool 3 - Tonight's the last night of "Chicago" here. The show did EXCEPTIONALLY well for our seasoner opener...96.3% paid tickets (that's 9,789 paid patrons over five performances). Last season was so bleak that we laid off three people. This season, much reduced in content (www.popejoypresents.com), is looking like a turnaround for us. COOL. Danny's in the theatre right now...it's intermission of the last performance, and I'm just waiting for the Clear Channel rep to settle with the company manager, so I can settle with her. It's Beth's first trip here to ABQ in over 2 years for a settlement, and her last for quite a while, since she's five months preggers and not well.
Cool 4 - The C2 session with Darryl Lipscomb was very COOL this morning, in spite of the rainy weather. Made some good research notes of some concepts. Last year there was no C2 at all at the A&C weekend here; this year there was 2 hours and 45 minutes scheduled for it.
Cool 5 - We had a COOL sectional rehearsal this afternoon for chorus. I'm thinking we're going to have those puppies (the songs) NAILED by concert time. The tenors hardly ever have sectionals and it shows.
