Windfall!

This morning I made the 7am trek to Tricore Reference Labs at Pres Hospital for the two bits of bloodwork my doctor(s)want.

As I walked in the door, somewhat groggily, a young woman came up to me and asked if I'd be interested in being a research participant for a trial type 2 diabetes study. All I'd have to do is have some extra blood taken, answer a family health questionnaire, and sit at a flourescent type machine that somehow measures glucose levels with light.

Done. And $15 wealthier.

Now I hope I don't get a positive result! My father's mother had type 2 diabetes developed in her 50s.

It's been interesting learning a new line dance from Lee in the few minutes before the class. Tonight, we did "Down and Dirty" and last week was "My Maria"...both new line dances to me. Happily, I could pick them up VERY easily for teaching. Lee thinks it's best that *I* do the teaching.

We had a couple of new folks again tonight...very game for it all, and I hope they weren't overwhelmed. Since we're now 16 weeks into dance lessons, a number of the ones that started in July are getting very good.

One of our square dancers, Lois, brought her sister and brother-in-law to dance tonight...both of them are VERY accomplished dancers. WAY above the level I've ever mastered, but then again, I only consider myself an easy intermediate instructor.

Danny held out boldly as my Ginger tonight, even though his leg was playing up on him again from the sciatica. It DOES seem to be improving, slowly, which I know is a huge relief to him.
