The caller's assn secretary-for-life just sent the minutes from the meeting I missed on Sunday.

"A motion was made and second [sic] to elect the 2006 slate of officers by actuation [sic]. The officers are Bill Eyler, Joey Solis, and Bob Brundage. Lynda is willing to continue as secretary if the officers want her to."

Oh my god.

Next year

It's coming up, isn't it...

Had a really good phone chat with Ett McAtee tonight. I'm sure hardly anyone remembers the days when she was nicknamed "Ettilla the Hun"...but it fit back then. Very dominant in organizing the Baltimore flyins, yet with a sweet "hunny" part that made her lovable. I think TAMI coined that moniker.

Ett's doing a Master's in something medical totally unrelated to her career as a lab technician. As part of that, she has to do a paper on marketing in her 'field'...which is of course square dancing.

We talked a long while about what we perceive as the marketing nightmares in the overall activity...we also talked about what we're doing this coming year.

Since my third event next year is the Philadelphia flyin, calling with Anne U and John M, I started looking up Pocono-related searches. I though maybe we'd be able to shoot down to Baltimore for a visit, but it's WAY out of the way.

It's VERY cold in the Poconos right now. I suspect it will be at the end of March next year! They tell us to bring swimsuits!

But I'm very much looking forward to this trip, since I've never been there. AND I enjoy calling with Anne a lot. I haven't really called WITH John before...my last memory of him calling for IAGSDC clubs is probably the New York convention in '89. He's had a lot of sturm and drang in his life since then...

So we'll fly to Philadelphia, but then it's nearly a three hour haul to get to Lake Harmony...
