The caller's assn secretary-for-life just sent the minutes from the meeting I missed on Sunday.

"A motion was made and second [sic] to elect the 2006 slate of officers by actuation [sic]. The officers are Bill Eyler, Joey Solis, and Bob Brundage. Lynda is willing to continue as secretary if the officers want her to."

Oh my god.

No, he just said "shoot", not "shoot in" or "shoot on".

Congratulations (I think)! Are you elected to a particular post or simply an officer at large? What will your first acts with your newfound power & privilege?

Wait a second. There is supposed to be power and privilege...?!?

Well, I know what the topic is going to be at Puddletown's next board meeting.

Of course! When I was secretary of DC Lambda Squares, I was granted the ability to reshape the universe to my liking by both setting the agenda and making strategic amendments to the minutes.

Power! Bwaaaahaaaaahaaaa!

It's a group board at the beginning of the year, then after the first meeting we've sequed into Pres, VP, Secretary and Treaurer. Maybe I'll just be the VP. Everyone else seems to want to keep the positions for life!

Elected in absentia?

So you've been nominated, confirmed, and elected in absentia? Congratulations. I think.

I think you should nominate Kris for election in absentia next year.

I think at the October meeting, I mentioned I'd be willing to serve. I think I must have been recovering from something foul, and just blathered. Kris has served her times of frustration as Pres a number of years ago, and is still a reasonably active member. It's a SMALL callers association, believe me!

So ... you're saying it's small enough that what you should be specifying is the two or three members who AREN'T elected to a board position?

I think there are 11 caller now...compared to the 26 when I started in '85.
