- Got all the walls painted and touched up? Check.
- Spackled the nailholes in the 120 feet of crown molding and touched it up? Check.
- Finish all the wiring and speaker wire soldering and install of the outlets? Check.

We spent some hours yesterday shopping for recliners and home theatre system. Danny ended up buying a theatre system this morning online for less with shipping than any similar system in the local big-chain outlets. Makes me wonder if some more of these local outlets will fade away in the near future.

The weather is frighteningly nice here this past couple of weeks. It's supposed to be high 50s again and clear. I saw on weather.com that there was snowish/sleety stuff over toward Flagstaff, which is 4 1/2 hours due west of here, but everything started breaking up about then. Whatever the rainfall that NoCal is getting isn't making it past the continental divide. I was just out in my tank top and jeans loading all the cardboard, glass and cans into the car for running over to the recycling...too much for the weekly pickup here.

This morning, I surprised Danny for his birthday with a CD of the top 20 hits of 1952, and a lovely Pendleton shirt and corduroy slacks. Very fetching! We're still so entrenched with working on the house that we may or may not go out for dinner tonight. He's already listened to the CD twice...what classics!

So today, we (Danny mostly) took down the three light fixtures from the rooms we're working on. They've always been hideous...two 1980ish fan-lights and one flourescent 1970s fixture, all mismatched, because originally the one 700 sq foot room was 3 separate function rooms when built.

We're made an attempt at painting the ceiling this morning, but we're using flat over semi-gloss, and I see dozens of missed areas now that it's about dry, so we'll touch that up after lunch digests. Since most of the lighting is gone, it's a bit dim down there!

Danny's itching to get the new tracklight systems installed down there. We had gotten a quote from our friend Thom at National Lighting, but it was about twice the price of what we found for a nice setup at Home Depot yesterday. We took the plunge and bought all the parts (except we'll have to go to another HD for the 5 lamps that the first store didn't have. They only had 11). It'll be so nice having dancing down there without fear of people getting their hands caught in the fan.
