My honey [livejournal.com profile] abqdan has an upstairs Replay TV and a downstairs Replay TV. When he's downstairs, as in this photo, he is sweetly holding Robert the TV bear as he watches. It's one of the reasons I love Danny.

Over the past month, we've about killed ourselves with trying to get the downstairs done...

Begone Cinder Block Walls! Oh, and the florescent box and two fan lights are now replaced with a ceiling full of tasteful track lighting

The last remaining unused drywall after putting up 20 or so sheets downstairs. You can see where the floor had been covered by the pile sheetrock for months since it DOESN'T have the white dust, which I was constantly sweeping up. Cough, cough.

Starting to restain the floors to correct the two different colors of parquet. We had spent about 18 hours sanding the damn thing by this time. The blue tape is the 'bowtie' effect we're trying to fix. All I can say is "Never Again!"

The first layer of stain applied to try to even out the colors. Tricky mixing and staining over two days.

The finished product coming soon!

(knocking on wood) Thinking this is just a VERY bad cold and sinus infection, and that I'm now on the mend. PLEASE let it be.

The Santa Fe Academy Concert )

Homeward bound for the hour trip back, we just chatted pleasant, but Mike confessed that he had spilled his entire coffee on the floor of my car. After a hasty lunch at home and a quick dab at the car carpeting, back to work. It's piling up on me now, and I DO have projects I desperately have to get to, so boredom will have to take a back seat. Stayed at work till 5:45, feeling "coughy" and tired, but persevered.

Danny it turns out ALSO spent part of the day in Santa Fe on an "adventure" day visiting a chorus friend, Joe Horton (www.hortonart.com) and successful artist. He came away with a verbal contract to redesign and webhost his website. Joe is on sabbatical from the chorus this term...it's getting pretty pricey to drive to ABQ every week for the rehearsals.

We watched "My Name Is Earl" downstairs with Robert the TV Bear.

And I just realized that I'm feeling better. AND tomorrow is Saturday!

Keep knocking on that wood!
