Theoretically, I should be in bed
Apr. 7th, 2006 12:28 amToday my baby brother Bruce turns 45. Everytime he has a birthday, I get flashbacks of his earliest years...since I went away to college when he was 11, I think I missed out on most of his formative years.
My middle brother Steve turned 50 8 days ago. I sent them both cards, but I doubt I'll actually talk to them for months or so.
I sometimes wish I were closer to my family, but we've NEVER been close or touchy-feely. Direct contrast to my extended family, where it's been very MUCH closer.
Wednesday, I met briefly with my boss Tom in the early afternoon. I thought he was having issues with his allergies again, but it turns out one of his close friends from New Jersey was just killed in a car accident. Awful. Tom got pretty teary-eyed, and I left him to be alone before his next meeting. It's a mixed blessing having a gay boss and both of us being out at work...
On other news, after working a full day, I tiredly trotted off to c/w lessons at 6:30, having practiced a couple of the featured line dances for tonight. We had the usual suspects there, plus a few more new dancers, which is always heartening. I skipped out of there at 9:05 though so I could run back to work and do the nightly box office settlement for Hairspray, a show we're still losing money on. Didn't take too long there...by 10:20 I was back home.
Danny was hopped up on the caffeine in the headache meds he's on, so he was still buzzing when I got home. We yakked for awhile about this and that, he retiring to bed, and me wandering to the living room to catch up on recorded shows. Danny's about 75% recovered now and went to work today. But he's off on Fridays, so his workweek consisted of a lousy day on Monday and a tired day on Thursday. What a life! His MRI results were ready on Wednesday, but his doc is on vacation until next week, so he has to wait until Tuesday for the results.
And tomorrow IS Friday, sort of. Well, of course literally it is, but I don't have a day off until the 15th. And bed beckons.
