Maybe it was watching "Jarhead" this weekend, but I broke through the Ameriglaze of consumerism and thought about the men and women who were sacrificed for the cause. It didn't make me feel more patriotic. In fact, a bit the opposite. It might be because I haven't had any personal loss from any of the wars during my lifetime.

I'm reading more and more about Islamic Jihad, and THAT is making me...concerned?

Side note: I'm not feeling well today. More 'off' than anything else, but several physical things are really starting to get on my nerves. I did my normal C1/Basic/MS/Plus/Advanced calling tonight for the Wilde Bunch, and except for Kris, no one knew I was having issues. Doctor visits are in order.

Side note 2: The past two Memorial weekends, Danny and I threw ourselves mercilessly into the never-ending rehab of the house. I think two years ago, we were working on the converting of the one odd largish room into the two rooms that became the downstairs guestroom and the gym. Last year, I think it was what is now the library. It's such a long process, and bit by bit, the house doesn't look like it did when I met Danny in 2001.

This weekend, we didn't do a huge amount, but with the Saturday partial demo of the laundry room, and ordering the new cabinetry and buying the ceramic tiles today for the laundry room and downstairs batheroom offset some of the sloth we've been going through.

The convention scheduling is much more fully fleshed out than I thought they would have worked up at this point...
