Monday fun
Jul. 11th, 2006 07:55 amI've fine tuned the books for the fiscal year. Popejoy Hall is very like to have made a small, but significant profit this year for the first time in four years. Hooray! Just one more entry to make to move donation funds over and voila!
Rushed home to finish up the Wilde Bunch class schedule for the summer session. It's been invigorating to have all this energy in the Bunch this past year. I have Crossover scheduled for Oct 2, just before the WB flyin, so there will be Basic dancing scheduled, too.
This class (number 62) seems to be mostly women, which will help bring our numbers back up to a more gender equitable mix. Two of the women were long time Wilde Bunchers that dropped out about 16 years ago to raise a family...I think they had finished C1 back then. Janiece was pregnant about 1988. I remember well the drama they went through, since it was supposed to be Ruth carrying the baby, but it never took for her, so Janiece ended up having two! Krista is 17 and Lucas is 10, so they decided it would be a good time to reconnect...I'm so glad to see them. We've had 3 returnees this past year from LONG ago days.
We've officially reached critical mass with the programs. I can no long teach and call beginners, Mainstream continuation, full Mainstream, Full Plus, Full Advanced all on one night. This will have to be a board discussion to go back to two nights no matter what financial arrangements have to be made. The $12 a month for dues has to be amended; we have no by-dance fee.
