Downtime

Last night, while Danny was catching up on his Replay shows, I took some downtime and just lay on one of the lounge chairs on the lower terrace watching the partly cloudy sunset sky lazily shift into a deep dusk, with the glow of the city lights slowly appearing on the underbelly of gathering storm clouds as a dusty rose. As the dusk was thickening, a storm from the south started sending out an impressive display of both sheet and forked lightening. Danny watched from the deck for a while, since it was a couple of miles south, and the thunder was distant.

The evening was pleasantly temperate, with a sweet cooling breeze playing over my arms and head.

The storm veered mostly west of us, but we did get a bit of a shower from it, the kind where there is no wind and the rain just drips from the sky like an overloaded sponge.

This morning sitting here at 6:15 with the office window open to the morning breeze, I'm seeing the reverse...the sun is dawning over the mountains onto the underside of thinning clouds with a salmon-pink sheeting on their fleeting fluffiness.

Sometimes it's just good to not do anything.

Side thought...if it's supposed to be cloudy all weekend, we may not be able to head out of town away from the city lights to view the meteor shower...

And the beat goes on,
And the beat goes on...

Snip, snip!

Many happy returns!

It's my mother's birthday number 84 today. She's never been anywhere NEAR a computer in all those years, so I called her this morning for a yak. The likelihood of her seeing this post is nil!
