Darn!

billeyler: (snow cold penguin)
The snow stopped about 7pm last night, so we only got about 2 inches of the fluffy stuff.  There's no notice of UNM having a weather delay, since the roads didn't seem to freeze over, but it is only 23 out right now.  It's quite beautiful out the windows here right now...the Juniper tree behind the house is shedding snow like dusty dandruff and the sun is shining right through it, quite surreal, like something from a CGI animated movie.

Danny did a nice tofu and veggie stirfry last night in our old, rarely used wok.  He thought we had some sweet and sour mix for it, but could only find a packet of Chow Mein seasoning that was easily 10 years old.   Still tasty though.

Danny's going to take off early today so we can head over to this new polling station west of here and be part of the Great Political Process of this US of A.  There's another local election that got bumped to Thursday with the polling stations moved over to Highland High School.  Neither of these places is our usual spot, about 4 blocks from home.   I wouldn't even have known about that Thursday one if I wasn't on the mailing list of one of our city counselors.

While I was looking up an unfamiliar bird I spotted in my bird book on Sunday (I never found it), I saw that the small doves that cluster together in the back like a puppy pile are actually Inca Doves, not Rock Doves.  Rock Doves are actually common pigeons!
