Wow...I've already gotten BOTH of my refunds direct deposited to my bank account, but here comes yet more surprise money! (I think the grammar in this gives it away from the first line).

Yesterday's trip to Homo Depot brought this:

One "Chicago Peace" Rose (planted near tulip bed in the center of the backyard)
Two tomato bushes ("Celebrity" and "Bigger Boy," planted on south drip system)
Three "Hall's Honeysuckles" (planted at north wall drip system to accompany the other 15 planted in 2000, 2005 and 2007...all thriving in their various ages of growth)

It's a touch iffy planting the tomatoes so early, but I'm going to risk it. No freezing temps forecast in next 10 days.

The planting holes were all prepped with nutrient-rich planting soil this year. Let's see what happens.

At 3am this morning, Georgian, the Wilde Bunch VP, drove herself to the emergency room at Presbyterian Hospital. Apparently, she had a perforated gall bladder.

According to her friend Lynn, she had surgery today, has been through the first stage of recovery and is now admitted to a hospital room.

We just saw Georgian yesterday at the Wilde Bunch board meeting. She was in good spirits and looked fine. She was relieved at the 25th anniversary fest being over, since she put together the biggest part of it...she was geared to jump into the rest of the planning for the balloon fiesta in October. THAT may be put on hold for a bit. Yikes.

I hope to go see her tomorrow!
