Fun in the gloom...
Oct. 15th, 2005 03:39 pmSince the day was looking pretty gloomy this morning with forecast of rain, we opted to hit the 11:45am matinee of "Wallace and Grommit"...VERY fun thing to do, even if the 'bargain' matinees are now $6.25. No spoilers, but there was so much 'only-adults-will-get-this' innuedo slipped in, we had no sooner finished chuckling than another zinger would slip in.
Started raining in earnest while we were in the theatre, and it's still drizzly/sprinkly now, with more coming. Since the firewood outside is wet or damp, we decided to blow $2.19 on a 4 hour firelog for tonight. Lawrence (sans Scott) is coming over for dinner and board games at 5:30. Have to think of something creative to do with 2 pounds of pork chops now...
Having some trouble sleeping well lately...it may be anxiety caused that that a-fib stuff. Was up pre-dawn and decided to do some yard work, so mowed my little patch of lawn and raked up six huge bags of ivy leaves from the old south dog run, where I STILL have to get the new fence up. Still looks like summer outside; the leaves on the cottonwood have barely started to turn yellow and there's a riot of color from the flowers. One frost due in the next couple of weeks will do that in, then we'll be set for the sub-freezing winter months until the teasing off and on warmth of March.
Danny's got about 500 pictures up in the various albums on the Replay TV now, but some glitch keeps about 20% of them from showing...some "Cannot load" error. He's sorted through some of the pre-Danny stuff from 1999 and 2000 last night, including a batch at the State Fair with a guy I dated briefly, oddly reminiscient of
dr_scott in looks, but less sane. A red head of course.

Date: 2005-10-16 03:57 am (UTC)Saw "Serenity" with the movie bears group last Wednesday and loved it. I was a little surprised how personally painful some scenes were: after seeing only a handful of the television series, I find I care rather deeply about the characters and their situation. Go figure.
