Thanks to [personal profile] davidlevine for the concept. Expanded it to first paragraphs.

January, 2007. Sitting here, looking out the window at the pine trees in front of the house, peeking through the 2 foot long icicles. The dawn is just starting to skim the tops of the very heavily snow-weighted trees, and it's perfectly still...and 9 degrees. There's another blanket of freezing fog over most of the city.

February, 2007. Probably a new record. This morning, I've already reconciled five bank accounts, filed my gross receipt taxes for January and reorganized the 2007 files to clean off my desk.

March, 2007. Mom's condition had improved quite a bit when I spoke to her yesterday at noon. Still in the hospital, but she's mobile and walking again, and had been disconnected from the IVs. She sounds more or less normal.

April, 2007. Reconnecting with other callers is always a nice thing at Callerlab. Most of the callers I've called flyins with this past year are here, so we get to catch up a little.

May, 2007. No bad adventures on Southwest getting to Florida. A long leg to Tampa, but stayed on the same plane for the continuing 39 minutes flight to Fort Lauderdale. Yay! Only one minor burp. When we stopped at Dollar to pick up our car, we discovered they were going to tack on an additional $9/day for '2nd driver'. We said "no thanks," headed over to Budget and got a similar car for the same price and no 2nd driver surcharge. Such cheek.

June, 2007. [personal profile] abqdan had a much better sleep last night, so was in better spirits this morning. I know it's getting him down about this broken rib stuff, but he's being stoic. I'll be driving him to work next week, since it's a bad option for him to attempt to drive the 1.2 miles to work, mostly because of the vicodin.

July, 2007. 5 years ago, I turned over management to my co-owned (since 1983 with my now ex first husband) rentals to a property manager...MOSTLY because I just couldn't handle the workload anymore, but partly because a trusted ex-square dancer friend was the business manager for them. The following bit is NOT because of friend Grace, who is not the owner. The response to my tenant is from the OWNER of the property management company.

August, 2007. I actually got back on Sunday evening, but I've been torn about what to write about my 9 days away. I put almost 1900 miles on the car, most of it just getting there and back. I had lots of emotions to deal with, but kept myself busy nearly all the time.

September, 2007. Danny spent most of the day yesterday finishing the priming of the walls. While he was doing a phone interview about the new password system he's implementing at UNM, I finished the cut in of the primer, and used a pole extender with a paint brush taped to it to finish off that unreachable bit over the downward stairs. Avoided having to try to wrangle a ladder and bricks to try to get to the top!

October, 2007. Danny and I puttered around over the weekend cleaning and putting the house in order for our visitors on Wednesday. Charlie just sent me a slightly cryptic note that Gary's last day at work there is Wednesday, and he's been extremely busy. That's a surprise, but he didn't give me any details; I've left Gary a couple of messages over the past week that he hasn't returned.

November, 2007. Okay, so I just ate an orange for lunch. Will that counteract the 30 or so mini-candy bars that have been consumed in the past two days?

December, 2007. I've found this piece in our chorus concert music to be the most challenging. My La-las don't normally work this fast!
