My green thumb is solid black when it comes to this particular houseplant: This is a 3 year old Croton

The poor thing actually had a bunch of new leaf sprouts along the stems last week. I put it out in the sun for a few hours. It was not amused.

I have only one houseplant still hanging on after all these years. All the rest have succumbed to my negligence.

Somehow, I have about 20 houseplants that keep on keepin' on. Some of them thrive, some of them just...survive. The Croton is the big challenge for me, since I love their splash of color!

30 years ago, some friends asked me to tend their houseplants in their apartment for them while they were gone for three weeks. I watered them every day, faithfully. The plants were all dead when they came back...I drowned em all!

I can top that

I once killed an aloe plant from neglect. You *know* how hard *that* is!

I think you reminded us once not to give you guys anything that would require care, nourishment or maintenance!

Sadly, it was a case of too little way too late. It was 70 out last weekend.

I pruned it down after I took that shot. If nothing occurs, then out into the trash it goes.

Hope your heating was installed successfully!
