Bits and Pieces

billeyler- Yesterday, I brought in some of the leftover fruit salad from Sunday night's dinner. I happened to mention that to Danny in an IM while I was eating it at work. He laughed, saying that it had put some VODKA in it, which I didn't realize. I had a nice little short-lived buzz though after that! Oops!
- Energy was down last night at square dancing, although everyone is still in learning mode for the A2 sessions. Last night was Checkmate, Mini Busy, and Slither. We're over 3/4 through with the Advanced program now.
- There were three Plus-only dancers there, so we were able to have some fun tips at that level. I'm concentrating more on my singing calls again...I've been letting those slip, calling so much Advanced. Kris told me it was "Dance Like A Chicken" day (today, Weds), so I included some calls where they had to do the chicken walk and flutter during some of the calls...all got into it!
- Session two last night at 9 for the Wilde Bunch performance team rehearsals. I need to somehow keep my own energy up for the 45 minutes we're working on the program; it's definitely flagging. It'll be a fun performance though, with Venus and Mars, Grand Sweep, and a couple of other showy calls tossed in, as well as some specialized styling. At least we have until June 14 to work on it!
- Wilde Bunch has a fun dance this coming Sunday at 2...and no caller. C-Scott thought we had a caller, but all the str8 callers will be in Farmington for the State Square Dance Fest, Kris will be in Denver, and I'm teaching a line dance workshop at Continuing Ed in the afternoon. Oopsies!
- Tonight I'm going to wander over to Sidewinders to see the C/W performance team do their numbers...should be fun!
- Had a dream about my mom last night. Although she's certainly too frail to travel now, somehow she had gotten onto a plane and taken off for somewhere. I was staying (or living) at her house...after a couple of days of not hearing from her, we got worried, but she did call finally. From North Carolina. She had flown to Florida and taken a bus north, with intentions of ending up in Philadelphia, someplace she's always wanted to go. All I could think of was that I wished I had given her a cell phone. No idea where this dream came from...it's definitely a composite of earlier discussions.
- Rained twice during the night, so it was fresh and delightful out this morning! More rain predicted over the next couple of days!
