Surprise phone call

Got home to hear a message on our answering machine wishing me a happy birthday. Or actually, my car. I bought it (1 year used) from the local Saturn dealership 4 years ago today!

(editorial comment: GM has been looking for a buyer for the Saturn division for some time, since they've found that people prefer to HAGGLE for car prices. I don't. I'm not ultra-impressed with their new line-up, since they just seem like knock offs of other cars i.e., VUE = a german Opel.)

My one and only car was a Saturn. I was impressed with the dealership's service and the quirky idea of birthday cards for the car.

I've been impressed with them, too. My experience with them with my first 1994 Saturn prompted me to revisit them in 2004.

We found a flat-price GM dealership when we bought our last car (2001), and hope they're still in business when we have to buy our next one - hopefully not soon. It made the whole car-buying experience soooo much nicer.
