Today started bizarrely with me crawling out of bed at 9:58 am. THIS is unheard of, considering I wasn't up late*! I had awakened at 5 and noodled around for an hour or so, then jumped back into bed with the Danster for Pre-Dawn Snuggles, only to fall into a nice sound sleep again. He got up pre-8, and I rolled over into that wonderful warmth that's left and fell asleep again. It was REALLY hard getting up.

But get up I did, and immediately turned the water on the lawn-lette, then hosed some of the winter dormant plants down for their monthly winter drinkie.

We yakked a bit then about what we needed to do for electrical to finish the west side of the rec room, then headed out for another of our trips to Lowe's, spending a mere $650 for paint ('Cottage Linen' for most of the room, then 'Barnwood' for the accent walls...mmm), more electrical, a custom Levelor-style blind for the 100 inch west window, FINALLY silk shimmery red drapes for our master bedroom, with pole and finials. This will definitely keep us busy over the next 10 days, but we've already found even MORE projects to do. Jeez.

The electrician has PROMISED that he's going to rewire the carport early next month so we can finally have the garage doors install, break out the storage room walls, and finally have the two-car garage we've been wanting.

I spent a bit of time hauling out all my old personal paper files and chachkas from under the stairwell so Danny can complete the wiring. We're talking 1983-2003 here. LOTS of it. MANY MANY boxes. I'm going to toss nearly all of it, but I did come across some fun stuff, like the first Wilde Bunch newsletter from 1983, and the WARRANTY DEED for the rentals that Jim Bailey and I own that I've been looking for.

Since we had a big burger lunch, we opted not to eat dinner, but Danny made his weekly pilgrimage to the supermarket to stock up till the end of year. Raley's Supermarket must love us.

Tonight, I'm sitting here still in my scruffy semi-housework clothes, UNBATHED for the day and unshaved. I'm afraid to look in the mirror.

Oh, one of the things I did toss from the stairwell storage was two broken mirrors I had been saving that I had taken out of one of the downstairs bedrooms before we remodeled them. I can't even remember exactly where they were, but somehow something fell on them and broke both of them. This is the first time I looked at the backs of them..."Manufactured Fort Wayne Indiana, January 30, 1962".

Danny's got an evening project since his original old Replay has completely died again. He's installing new hard drive and all the whoopie for that, so he'll be back to having TWO Replays to record all his shows. Eek!

Odd weather today...low 60s and very breezy! Normal is about 47 this time of year. Dry as a bone.

Think I'll go downstairs and start the shred-a-thon.

* We had a great crowd last night for c/w lessons, with 5 newbies. I always love teaching new folks. We stayed after lessons about 45 minutes for more c/w, since the Kareoke DJ plays LOTS of c/w for us, but went home and only stayed up a bit, being the faded 50s flowers we are.
