billeyler | Werner-Gilchrist House at Cornell and Silver SE

I've been walking or driving by this house for the past 28 years and slightly knew the owner in the early 80s. Even then, he was battling to keep the place from falling apart, but kept the landscaping up around the area. This property encompassed a half a block. My rentals are only 2 blocks further south. This was a historic home, before there were even streets in University Heights and had nothing to do with UNM, which has just started a few years before about 1/4 mile to the NW. Sad. I had posted about this house about 3 years ago, but can't remember quite when I did, without a tag.
