Seattle pending!

Since we booked the RSVP cruise for the Alaska Inside Passage about 18 months ago, THAT portion of the trip is all set. We got our packets this past Friday and looked through all the goodies available...apparently you can now pre-book the side trips rather than having to go to the brainwashing...err orientation lessons on the boat now.

We finally got around to booking our flights to/from Sea-Tac for the trip, but we've been lazy about actually getting a motel room for the night before we leave...something else on the checklist to deal with!

We're hoping to get to the Puddletown dance on 9/2...apparently it's a class, rather than a dance, but it would be fun to see how other callers are working with their students. It's been a long time since I've peeked out from beneath my own tarp of tittilating teaching tips.

Hope this farmer's tan I got from yardwork on Saturday fades before the trip! :-)

It's actually not even a class yet. It's our first 'Taste of Square Dancing' event, where we invite people who haven't danced before and teach them about 15 calls real quick just to get them moving so they can decide whether or not to come back for lessons. We do at least one full MS tip with the experienced dancers as sort of a demo, but other than that, there's very little real 'dancing'.
It's a lot of fun, though, and we'd love to have you drop by. Maybe we can all head over to the Timberline for some two-stepping afterwards.

I had actually called their "caller booking coordinator" about four months ago to see about the possibility of calling a dance up there when we were doing the stayover, but was told in no uncertain terms that THAT would be impossible! They're organized enough to know some months in advance that they will have a specific event happening! Go figure! We can't even get the WB to plan anything beyond the next week.

Well, except that my last trip to Seattle in June 01 when I was actually invited to call there...that was an unmitigated disaster.
