Having a quiet "lunch hour" at work right now...I've made the commitment to bring lunches to work and sit quietly at my desk with relaxing classical music and good thoughts.
I had gotten into a bad habit of driving home for lunch everyday (1.2 miles), having a high calorie lunch, and a nap. Theoretically, I always went home to do errands, which are endless, but I hardly ever did that, since the couch beckoned for the nap.
MAYBE, I'll be able to lose some of this spare tire if I change my bad habit. A first step at least, since exercising (other than teaching c/w lessons) seems to be lowest priority.
So this weekend, our theatre is hosting Bill Cosby as one of our regular shows. It's what we call a 'settlement show,' though, which means I have to be here to work with the company managers on box office and expense reconciliation. Otherwise, the shows just come and go, and all I know about them are the reconciliations and journal postings I create the Monday after the shows are here.
Have a meeting on Tuesday to work up my Seque Plan to shift my offices to another building (next door) and assume more responsibilities for oversight of the other university auxiliaries (golf course, bookstore, housing, Lodestar Astronomy, and some others).
I was reflecting a few days ago, that the promotion I got is really the first real job promotion I've ever had in my life. In past jobs, I was always with small companies, and as the single accountant there WAS no where to progress, and I certainly don't want to be the executive director or such! In the two jobs where I could have moved up, either I moved to a different state, or the business moved to another city and *I* didn't chose to move. Hmmm...
Since we're both in town this weekend, we invited our friend Lawrence over for a board games evening Saturday. Danny wants to cut it short a bit, since he's REALLY wanting to go to the regional Leather competition at Sidewinder's Ranch after that! Oh, my! The management there turned the old underused third bar there into a retail outlet. Should be interesting!
